My name is Laura Hoover and I am passionate about food. I have a deep love for cooking
that has thrived since childhood. After 10 years of reading cookbooks for entertainment
and doing the family cooking, I attended a Culinary Arts program at Warren Tech where
my skills were refined. My career path has always been tied to the food industry, with
significant experience catering, making wedding cakes, cooking, and serving. I was head
chef and food service manager for a non-profit backcountry program as well as
management of the kitchen for a large scale guiding and outfitting company. Most
significant, however, in my journey with food was living and working on an organic farm
in Argentina this previous year. I lived in a community of people who lived 100% off the
land, eating seasonally, sustainably, simply, and nutritiously. This fueled my desire to
cook environmentally consciously while creating healthy, simple delicacies. I believe that
eating consciously can and will have a dramatic effect on, not only the community we live
in but your overall physical and emotional wellness.
